Frequently Asked Questions

Who made this?

This tool was made by UCLA's Professor Ricardo Perez-Truglia. You can click here to visit his website.

How does it work?

Behind the scenes, the tool created embeddings for the title, publication details, and abstract of each editor paper in the database. When you upload a PDF or paste your title, abstract, and introduction, the app embeds that text with the same model, compares it to editor papers using cosine similarity, and ranks editor-journal pairs based on the closest related papers.

Which journals are included?

Click on Narrow Search to see all of the journals available for your field. More journals to be included in a future version: if you'd like a specific journal, please send your suggestion using the feedback form below.

How current is the database?

Database last updated: September 3, 2026. Editorial boards change over time, so please verify editor roles on the journal website before submitting.

This tool does not use a generative large language model (LLM). Instead, it compares research using a pretrained text-similarity model running on our server. Your uploaded papers and pasted text are used only for this request and are never used to train or improve any model. The tool does not store your papers, pasted text, or recommendations.
